Down to the Wire

Down to the Wire

Nov 2, 2013

November 9 is one week away and God Willing this time next week I will have qualified for the Ohio Invitational at the Arnold Classic 2014. Training has been good, the biggest mistake I made during this cycle was too many hanging band sessions for bench and not enough rack pull sessions for my deadlift. I’m looking forward to getting back on the platform. This will be the first time since Bench Nationals in August I have competed. I’m looking forward to sharing the platform with Ohio’s best and Ohio’s up and comers. I’m looking to keep the momentum rolling in 2013 and take it into this meet and beyond.

My last training session was last Sunday before I came down with a serious cold. I did manage to eat as normal as possible and keep gatorade in my system so I didn’t lose too much strength this close to the meet.

10/27/2013 Bench Session:
390×6
415×4
465×2 I had two more reps in me but stayed at 2
445×3
390×6

Tricep Pushdowns
120×15
140×15
160×15

Wide-Grip Pushdowns
140×15
160×15
180×12

30 minutes on treadmill (inclined)

This week I will lift for my openers for bench and deadlift. Both will probably be light as I learned my lesson from last year where it was this meet I injured my shoulder starting too high for my openers. I am looking to qualify for the Arnold and that’s it.

Thanks again to the IA family who is doing great things, ATP Extreme, Primo Chalk, Iron Chamber Gym, Old School Iron Gym and King’s Gym for making my training possible.
