Homemade Protein Bars / Cake

Homemade Protein Bars / Cake

Oct 3, 2013

I have been playing around with these for a while and finally figured out a decent recipe offering the nutrition I want. I am not against store bought big company bars. I feel they have there place, but I was looking for a bar with a higher protein content and lower carb content. Also its nice knowing exactly what goes into the bars.

4 Whole eggs, 8 Egg whites

1.5 cups oatmeal

1.5 cups of fat free milk

8 scoops Protein; I used body fortress vanilla. I find it cooks well and its 30 grams of protein per scoop.

2 Teaspoons of baking soda and baking power

3 Teaspoons of vanilla extract

Put everything into a blender and set into motion. Consistency will be like pancake batter.

Pour into a 9×13 pan coated in cooking spray.

Bake at 350, and check at 15 minutes. I had my oven higher from roasting a chicken and so mine came out a bit darker.

When they are cooked let cool for a couple minutes before cutting into 12 bars/ cake pieces.

Here is the break down per bar.

191.5 calories, 3.69 grams of fat, 13.63 grams of carbs, 26.65 grams of protein!

Play around with this, try different things and comment of this post. Let me know what works for you. I hope you enjoy.
