How I break in a bench press shirt.

How I break in a bench press shirt.

Apr 1, 2013

Had two shirts I tried to break in today.  New TITAN SUPER KATANA angled sleeve and straight sleeve shirts.  Both are the same arm/chest dimensions.

Started with the straight sleeve shirt.  Scott Lade said there would be a lot of rear delt support and wow was he right.  A very different sensation than I am used to in an angled sleeve.

What I do is load up the bar starting at 405 and go up from there progressively bringing the bar lower and lower towards the chest/abdomen in each set.  I start the initial sets with the collar up in my neck, then progressively pull down and eventually add the belt the heavier I go.

405 x5 pinky on rings
495 x5 middle finger on rings
585 x5 index on rings
635 x3 index on rings to about a 2 board

CHANGED INTO THE ANGLED SLEEVE / SPANDEX BACK

405 x5 middle on rings
495 x5 index on rings
585 x3
635 x2
675 x2 just under a board

I am definitely better in the angled sleeve shirts.  The spandex back felt like I had a lot more freedom than in a standard back.  Felt like I was able to manipulate the bar path a little easier because of it.  Not sure about that, but at least that is what it felt like.  I really need to get the sleeves tightened.  I could put these shirts on by myself.
