Powerlifting and the Olympics

Powerlifting and the Olympics

Aug 9, 2016

I’ve been getting a lot of questions as to why I am not participating in the Olympics. Maybe this post will help and I hope I explain it well. I am proud to have Silver medaled at the IPF OPEN World Bench Press Championships (during the 2016 Olympic year) in Rødby Denmark. I pressed 335kg / 738.5lbs in the 120kg / 264lbs weight class and hold the American...

Training on the Road

Training on the Road

Jul 28, 2016

By: Jeff Snyder I have been competing in powerlifting for over 20 years and most have been dedicated to the bench press. Back in 2010 I started working as a MWD supervisor in the oil field. The majority of our work is on the road and is hard not only on my family life but also on my training. I have had great training partners in Randy Earle, Mitch Mayon, Wade...

Taking the Bench Daddy Killer B for a Ride

Taking the Bench Daddy Killer B for a Ride

Feb 1, 2015

^^The Bench Daddy Killer B competition legal One day before the 2014 WPC Worlds one of my teammates, Paul ‘Rup’ Rupright, brought a Bench Daddy in for us to incorporate into training.  It was set up so that there was a single and a double loop.   Prior to this I had used a Sling Shot and a Super Ram for bench assistance.  When we hit the double loop...

Bench Training 7/13 – 7/26 (2014)

Bench Training 7/13 – 7/26 (2014)

Jul 30, 2014

Its been a while.  I’ve been extremely busy the last few weeks.  Baby on the way, working hard, training hard, and feeling very blessed. I don’t really have any profound ponderings to offer, but I will say that it feels good to be able to train somewhat heavy raw again.  The shoulder seems to be holding up very well and feels almost as good as new....

Brady’s Bench Training 7/6 – 7/12 (2014)

Jul 12, 2014

The equipped training is getting better.  This is my last week without using a belt for equipped bench pressing.  Had to stop running this week because my legs were hurting from it.  So I just put the incline way up and walked fast ~4.0 mph. Next week I’ll likely go up to 585 x5 reps, may throw the belt on too.  Bottom line is I need to start touching...

This has been another great week of training for me.  Probably my best week since I’ve been back at it post Labrum surgery. Big thanks to Logan Hunt, 2013 IPF Junior World Bench Press Gold Medalist for training with me and getting me back on track.  His serious approach to training is refreshing. Sunday Equipped Bench Press 495 x4, x7, x5 @7-8 Shoulder...

In this log update, I’ll let you in on my plans for the 2014 USA Bench Press Nationals.  I’ll be the reigning defending champion attempting to win another national title.  This will be my first competition since the 2013 US Nationals.  I am really looking forward to seeing my friends and competitors put it all out there.  Will I be 100%?  No, but I...

CONFIDENCE

CONFIDENCE

Dec 27, 2013

By: Brady Stewart BECOME SO CONFIDENT THAT FAILURE CEASES TO EXIST Confidence is essential to athletes. It gives them a sense of belief in themselves and their abilities. When the time comes to accomplish something new, confidence is positively used as a force multiplier in achieving a personal best, performing optimally, or breaking through that ceiling of...
