Toes touching

Quads tight

Heels pressing

Back arched

Lats tighter

Shoulders down

Blades touching

Hands gripping

Puff of chalk

Bend bar

Deep breath

Belly to belt

Out! Out!

Release!

Quads tighter

Sudden pressure

Pain

Sight narrows

Dark tunnel

Arms bending

To belly

Press!

Tunnel narrows

No sound

Shaking

Pushing up

Pushing back

Elbows flaring

Blades into bench

Forever

Left lock

Right lock

Rack!

Pressure released

Exhale!

White lights

Life’s good
